Poison Verses Instant death to Rats

The very slow agonizing, painful death that rats suffer while dying from poison in not humane at all and frankly it is not just Rats but there are many poisons used to control vermin ( IE ) jackals, wild cats etc. and they die very painful ugly deaths.

The poison cause rats to bleed internally, it makes them want to drink more often and as they grow weaker due to the loss of blood they just can't get to water. The stress that they must suffer during those last days of life must be horrific. Can you just imagine knowing that you are very ill, there is no one around to help you and you have not the strength to get to the phone, you know that if you don't get help you are going to die. I have seen a Jackal in the final throws of death due to poison, it was the most ugly gruesome thing I have seen. I was able to end its suffering very quickly but I have never used poison again. What that animal went through must have been total terror, knowing that something was very wrong, it had dragged itself a few hundred yards toward a water point but just did not have the strength to get there.Never again will I use poison.

Those of you that have put out poison for Rats and Mice I am sure have found a victim just sitting huddled up, not even trying to get away from you when you approach. Just think what that animals must be feeling,indiscribable pain, total terror and a knowing that it is dying.

I go into many places where people have used poison and I see this sort of thing often. Most people don't give a thought to the animal, they just leave it to slowly die. No one gives a thought to what else will die when the animal dies.

I have sat and watched as flies lay their eggs on a rat that has been poisoned, and after a few days I went back and the rat was just drying up, no worms, no other insects feeding on the corps but I did find a few little beetles lying dead next to it. They had all died from the poison that was still in the body.

All poisons are killing are Eco systems, our wild life, they are getting into our drinking water, into the soil etc.
